Simon Ferris is a teacher of maths in a Sixth Form College. He has been a teacher for almost 10 years following a 25-year career as a technical manager and consultant to the software development industry. Having led large teams, he is experienced in leadership and management.
He is a maths enthusiast and has taught years 11-18 in Manchester Schools and at a sixth form college. In his current role, he both teaches A-Level maths and is the course leader for the GCSE resit provision. He is a mentor for NQTs and trainee teachers and works with staff across the college to support teaching and learning through the use of technology.
Simon is a local resident and has two daughters who attended Parrs Wood High School. He was elected as a parent governor in 2011 and, following the conversion to academy status, Simon was elected to chair of the local governing body and as a trustee of the multi academy trust. He is passionate about education and is committed to supporting high-quality fully comprehensive education.
